Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Neill Kramer currently resides in California where he is a stay-at-home Dad to an eight-year-old boy.

The first in his family to attend college, Neill began by studying accounting and economics at Rider College, in New Jersey, in 1974. Within six months Neill had decided to jettison the world of business and, much to the chagrin of his parents, began studying Chinese philosophy and abnormal psychology. After his first year Neill dropped out of college and began a six-month whirlwind tour of Europe, Israel, Kenya and Tanzania.

By 1978 Neill had decided to return to college, but this time attending an "alternative" school, The Evergreen State College, in Olympia, Washington. Neill studied visual anthropology and creative writing. One of his favorite Independent Contracts at Evergreen was the creation of a documentary video about the formation of a grassroots museum in the San Juan Islands called The Whale Museum. He wrote a grant and lived on the island, recording the day-to-day activities of building the museum's exhibits.

After receiving his BA from Evergreen and a Master's in Education from the University of Oregon in 1983, Neill worked for several years in the non-profit sector. He designed exhibits for museums and worked for development offices at a hospital and a theater. Subsequently, Neill taught interdisciplinary studies at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), focusing on the interface between science, technology and society. With two of his colleagues from RIT Neill tried his hand at an entrepreneurial venture, founding a software company in 1992. Winner of the prestigious Codie Award - the software industry's Oscar - Cyberpuppy Software specialized in developing creativity and internet software for children.

Neill sold his company in 1994 to a Silicon Valley startup. He then continued to pursue entrepreneurial ventures, co-founding three additional startups until until his son turned two. At that point Neill became a stay-at-home Dad and once his son went off to kindergarten Neill wrote a children's play and created a stop-motion, animated film. Neill's wife, Pam, was at E*Trade Financial, Inc., between 1996-2004.
